Down-and-out saddle tramp John Weston foils a bank holdup and is recruited to go undercover in a rigged rodeo circuit where contestants keep turning up dead of snakebite, riding to victory in the arena while unmasking the killers.

The Man from Utah pads its brisk hour with lengthy stretches of genuine rodeo footage rather than staged stunt work, a budget-saving trick typical of Monogram’s Lone Star pictures and a reminder of how thin the line between B-Western and traveling rodeo show could be.
