Killer Dill (1947)
A mild-mannered lingerie salesman invents a fake gangster persona to impress women, then finds himself the prime suspect in a real murder after a hood's body turns up in the trunk of his car.
Killer Dill was a late-career star vehicle for Stuart Erwin, a genial character actor typecast for years as the amiable rube, here playing the mistaken-identity gag for all it’s worth in one of Poverty Row studio PRC’s low-budget comedy programmers.
